Efi Cannot Find Required Map Name
- #one
Howdy all, I just added a 246GB SSD to the M.2 connector on my Z97/three motherboard. Upon boot I go stuck on this message:
EFI Shell Version 2.31 [4.655]
Current running mode 1.1.2
map: Cannot find required map name.
Furthermore the BIOS does not seem to recognize the SSD. Not showing up in Board Explorer.
When I remove the SSD PC starts normally from Hard bulldoze.
I was not able to reset the SSD since it came from ab cleaved Laptop. I practise not want to use the data on it, I would like to reset information technology and migrate the Os to it.
Whatsoever ideas what the problem kight be? Thank you

Ensure that your PC is booting from your difficult drive, not the M.2 when it is installed.
The M.2 won't bear witness upwardly in board explorer, but don't worry about that. It doesn't matter.
Information technology actually but sounds like when you lot're booting, it's trying to kick from the M.2, and the Os that is on it doesn't like the calculator, and it only craps out.
If you would kick from your current difficult drive instead of the M.2, it should boot up and y'all should exist able to read the bulldoze, assuming you're running Windows eight or Windows ten.
That'southward something else to keep in mind. You really need to be running Windows eight or Windows 10.
Windows 7 was not fond of NVMe drives.

Hey thank you for the reply. Then I ensured that the PC boots from the normal HDD I tried it with and without UEFI (encounter fastened kicking order). My PC is definitely running win 10. I have updated the Bios and still get the same error message.
EFI Shell Version two.31 [4.655]
Electric current running fashion 1.1.2map:
Cannot find required map name.
Other places seem to advise a trouble with power, but I don't know how to treat that, I checked all connections. And it happens only when the SSD is inserted.
Do you take any other suggestions? This is actually frustrating.
